You Spend a Third of Your Life There. You'd Better Like It!
Now we'll take a look at the bedrooms. While you may first be concerned about the number and size of the closets, or how your furniture will be placed in reference to windows, some of other things to consider include:
Ceiling -cracks, water damage, paint peeling or chipping
Walls - cracks, warps, and/or bulges along sides and below windows
Doors and doorways:
Are the doors square in the frames? Do they stick?
Have the miters opened up?
Are there cracks radiating from the corners of the doorways, stair-stepping up to a corner? This can be an indication of a settlement problem in that part of the house.
Some cracks are fine; they're just the natural symptoms of age. We would rather see the natural condition of an older home than have any problems covered up with a new spackle and paint job, which could cause some suspicion on our part.
