One of the signs every year that autumn is here for Central Indiana is the opening of the Apple Store at Conner Prairie in Fishers, which is now open for its' 26th season, and operates through October 30th.
The Apple Store, which is run by the ladies of the Conner Prairie Alliance, offers tasty, traditional, and seasonal treats and gifts, including hand-dipped caramel apples (the ladies dipped 19,374 apples last year,) apple cider and cider slushies, donuts and pies, a variety of apples from local orchards, and locally made crafts, Halloween decorations, soaps, candles, and more. Profits support various projects at Conner Prairie Interactive History Park.
Conner Prairie is just one of the things that makes Fishers a great place to live. Fishers Parks & Recreation offers a variety of special events and recreation programs for all interests and ages, including a Summer Concert Series, Movies in the Park, and a Summer Camp Program. In fact, Fishers was honored as a "Playful City USA Community" for their efforts to increase play opportunities for children by KaBoom, the national non-profit organization dedicated to saving play.
